WASP has a Slack workspace at wasp-sweden.slack.com. The Business+ plan subscription is hosted by KTH. Billing is based on active members.

There are three kinds of membership:

  • Full member (only for the WASP community)
  • Single-channel guest (external users can be invited to a single channel as “guest”, which is for free)
  • Multi-channel guest (if the same external user is invited to more than one channel it is not for free and such guests count as paying members)

Principle of openness

All users should be aware that KTH, as a university, is an authority. Accordingly, the principle of openness applies, among other with respect to “incoming documents” which includes electronic documents.

Archiving

The communications are now neither culled nor disposed after 90 days, but we cannot exclude that this will change. All users are responsible for the transferring of important information to other suitable media.

Slack FAQ

To join WASP’s workspace on Slack you need to be invited by someone who is already a member.

All members can request to invite people but must state the affiliation to WASP in order for administrators to grant full membership. People who are not part of the WASP community but connected to a certain collaboration or group can be granted access to a specific channel as guest.

If you don’t know anyone who is already a member of WASP Slack, or if the invitation doesn’t go through, you are welcome to contact info@wasp-sweden.org to be invited by an administrator.

All members can request to invite new members.

When you invite someone as full member, always specify the persons’ role in WASP. It is then easy for the administrator to verify that the person in question can be approved as a “full member”.

If you invite someone who is not part of the WASP community, always use the “guest” option and specify the channel that you would like to invite the person to.

To interact with other (billed) Slack-workspaces you can set up a “Slack Connect Channel”. Then each party covers its own costs.

To set up a private channel, click on “add channel” in the lefthand menu and choose “create new channel”. Once the channel is created you invite the people that you wish to join the channel. This can be done by all members.

To set up an open channel you must ask the administrators for help. Contact: info@wasp-sweden.org
