WASP Winter Conference 2023

Be a part when the WASP community come together for the most appreciated event of the year. The WASP Winter Conference is back!

What started as a gathering for WASP PhD students, has now grown into a meeting place where all parts of the WASP community come together. Research exchanges in a friendly environment and updates about what’s going on in WASP remain the focus of the WASP Winter conference.

Three days of activities and up to 600 participants are expected.

WASP alumni are invited to attend the main conference program and a special alumni program. The exclusive alumni activities are:

January 10: 15:40 Meet-an-alumni
Meet the new WASP PhD students to present your experience of the program and journey through WASP. The program item starts at 15:40.

The day concludes with a dome show and dinner at Visualization Center C together with the new students, WASP directors and WASP postdocs, which you are also welcome to attend.

January 11: 16:30 Alumni meeting with WASP management
An opportunity for you to give feedback about your time in WASP and career paths post WASP to the WASP management.

The possibility of this becoming a hybrid exists, please let us know how you prefer to attend.

In the evening, you are welcome to join the community for a conference dinner with a diploma ceremony on stage. Diplomas are handed out for you who defended your thesis during 2021 & 2022.

Alumni of the Year Award

Alumni of the Year recognizes and celebrates the outstanding achievements of WASP graduates. Our alumni can make a real difference across the globe in a variety of ways. Through the Alumni of the Year award, WASP seeks to acknowledge persons that have made a contribution to the local, national and international communities.

The winner is revealed and will receive the award at the conference dinner on January 11. The winner will also have a talk during the plenary session on January 12.

Best Poster Award

For the first time, a Best Poster Award will be granted to three PhD students that participates in the poster sessions. Read more here.
