As a WASP-funded PhD student you have the possibility to organize two international study trips. You may choose to replace one of these trips with participation in an international summer school.
PhD students have the opportunity to exchange one of their WASP funded self-organized study trips to participate in an international summer schools. The funding (including overhead costs) available for each participant is:
Within Europe: Up to SEK 20.000
Outside Europe: Up to SEK 40.000

Requirements
- The application must be submitted no later than two months prior to the departure date, except during the Christmas and summer holiday periods, when a minimum of three months’ notice is required.
- The international summer school should be relevant for WASP research in general and specifically for the participating students.
- The summer school should be part of the list of approved summer and winter schools that are provided by the WASP Research Management Group (RMG)
- If students wish to attend summer schools that are not on the list, they must submit a support letter from their supervisor.
- The expected trip duration is the same as the duration of the summer school. Pure conference trips are covered by the students’ individual travel budgets.
- Costs are covered for WASP-funded PhD students.
How to apply
- Applications can be submitted continuously via this link. The outcome will be communicated within one month from the receival of the application.
- The applicants must plan for that VISA-application processes can take several months. Invitation letter from the hosts needs to be taken care of by the applicant (PhD Student)
After approval
When your application is approved you will be informed and a formal decision letter will be issued and sent to the participants, their supervisors and their financial officers.
