The WASP Research Arena WARA Medicine is organizing an open hackathon together with SciLifeLab and the DDLS Cell and Molecular Biology research area on December 1, 2026.
The hackathon will focus on developing AI agents for applications in life sciences, medicine, and healthcare. It is an opportunity to explore ideas, build solutions together, exchange knowledge, and connect with others interested in agentic AI.
The event is open to members of the SciLifeLab, DDLS, and WASP communities. You are welcome to join whether you already have an idea or a team, or simply want to collaborate with others during the day. Participants can propose project ideas and indicate their interests when registering, and teams will be formed based on shared interests and ideas. If you have already formed a team with which you will work, you can indicate this in the registration form.
During the hackathon, participants will get API keys to access Claude and open weight models hosted by SciLifeLab. We will also facilitate hosting of your tools on the SciLifeLab Kubernetes cluster if needed.
The day will begin with breakfast and project pitches and conclude with pizza. Participation is limited to 70 people.
