Dear WASP community,

As the spring term comes to a close, we can look back on a strong and active period for WASP. Our calls continue to attract great interest, from NEST Futures to the growing number of joint calls and collaborations that connect research areas across the Wallenberg programs. This is a result of the size, maturity, and trust we have built together over the past ten years.

WASP’s long-term impact is becoming increasingly visible through our people. Currently, we have 509 active PhD students, and 262 have defended since the start of WASP. The graduate school remains highly active, with new students being enrolled, new courses being added, and two additional courses now in planning, one in cybersecurity and one in AI and Software. Our alumni community is growing as well, showing how WASP contributes lasting competence to Sweden, and we are preparing further alumni activities to strengthen these connections.

We are also taking important steps for the future, including a new WARA on large-scale AI, WARA AI TRICS, and a new strategic project on large language models SE.LLMA. These initiatives show how WASP continues to evolve, respond to emerging research needs, and create value across disciplines and sectors.

Thank you for your commitment, collaboration, and continued contributions to WASP. I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer, and I look forward to all that we will continue to build together in the coming term.
