For a successful project it is important that the industrial and academic partners understand their roles and the requirements from the course on the involved partners and persons. Before a project can be accepted, the following commitments from the partners need to be accepted:
- Industry partner
- Supervision
- Has significant competence in the project area and time for supervision.
- Tasks: Plan, supervise and manage project, read and act on status reports, and evaluate deliverables.
- Performed as in-kind.
- Access to resources, e.g., data.

- Academic partner
- Supervision
- At least post-doc level, has significant competence in the project area, and has time.
- Tasks: supervise project scientifically, examine status reports and deliverables, act as examiner for the project.
- Gets 30h from WASP GS for supervision.
