Welcome to the WASP Thematic Summer school on Rethinking and Rescaling LLMs in Luleå.
Large Language Models (LLMs) have become ubiquitous, providing AI solutions across various fields, including robotics, bioinformatics, music, and more. The costs involved, however, show that new ways of thinking are required to make them sustainable. This Summer School aims to inspire PhD students to think multilaterally with international guest speakers under the theme “Rethinking and Rescaling LLMs” with the sub-topics :
- Rethinking Usage
- Rethinking Usage in Robotics
- Rethinking Data
- Rethinking Training
- Rethinking AI Ethics
- Rethinking LLMs as Agents
- Enhancing Educational Chatbots for teachers and students
Invited speakers
- Salla Franzén (Navigare Ventures)
- Clara Rivera (Google Gemini)
- Thomas Breuel (NVIDIA)
- Homam Mokayed (Luleå University of Technology)
- Lars Lindsköld (Svensk Förening för Medicinsk Informatik)
- Petter Ericson (Umeå University)
- Chris Kanellakis (Luleå University of Technology)
Practical information
Participants are responsible for booking their own tickets and accommodation.
Participants can book hotel of their choice, preferably within the city center of Luleå (e.g. Elite Stadshotellet, Quality hotel, Comfort hotel, etc). This makes it a walking distance to the venue for the last 3 days and a few minutes away by bus to Luleå University.
Regarding local transportation, Bus 4 gets to the city center and LTU from the airport. This and buses 5, 6 & 7 stop at bus stops close to the university (about 2 minutes walk). You may download the LLT app to buy the ticket of your choice.
