Goal: To increase the collaboration between WARA Medicine and WASP affiliated academia in the field of ML/AI through organising a network meeting for the academics to understand the breath of activities within WARA Medicine that can mutually benefit from further collaborations in ML/AI.
Background: WARA Medicine is a goal and not a specific technology research arena i.e. the goal is to initiate collaboration in all types of ML/AI that can speed-up the delivery of medicines. While in some fields there are already collaborations between WASP affiliated academia and the companies in WARA Medicine, WARA Medicine is an effort to further strengthen existing collaborations and especially to start new one.
Moving forward with intense global competition in the life sciences together with generous funding in ML/AI through the WASP program from the KAW foundation we strongly believe much more can be done, both to expand existing collaborations for AI4Science, multi-agent systems, digital pathology and RWE, but also to identify other opportunities in important fields like robotics, data management and clinical sciences.
Note that the collaboration opportunities should be seen broadly and doesn’t necessarily need to be WASP related, but can also be in kind, DDLS, WISE, Vinnova, Horizon Europe etc including joint Master Thesis students.
For attendance, please notify Karolina StJohn by the 29th of August if you would like to attend in person or virtual. We will send out instructions how to arrive to the site and how to connect virtually before the meeting.
